IRS (Integrated reception system)

Three blocks, all flats upgraded for digital reception.

Working closely with the management company and residents committee we planned and installed an IRS system to meet everyone's requirements.

There are three Blocks, together we eventually decided upon two independent systems, with cables routed through the loft spaces to minimise the visual impact of the new digital upgraded aerial and satellite system.

  Below our new system is almost finished, where possible cables were routed behind the drain down pipes, you may just be able to see the new cabling, we and the residents committee were very pleased with the results.

The old sky dishes were left in place to maintain a reception but are to be removed as part of the contract.

The drainage down pipes were used to conceal the cabling at the front of the main block, you can just make out a finished cable entry point above the coiled cable that is waiting to be drilled in.

Installing the second head end amplifiers, a third set of amplifiers are fed via underground cabling, these are also housed in a purpose built external cabinet as with this one pictured, only visible from the garage block.





The IRS array serving the main block, you can just make out the old aerial, we left it in place as we maintained a reception for the residents throughout our installation of the new system.
